Before & After Photos
Take a look at the satisfying results Dr. Vincent Lepore has achieved for his cosmetic surgery patients.
Wrinkles on your face and neck can be the most frustrating signs of aging because they are so highly visible. For men and women in San Jose, facelift surgery is the go-to option to reduce their wrinkles and tighten their skin so that they look as young as they feel. Many men and women are concerned that, after a face lift, they will have an overly tight, fake, "wind tunnel" look. When performed by a skilled and experienced plastic surgeon such as Dr. Lepore, you can rest assured that a face lift will produce results that look natural, and have been designed to enhance your own natural beauty.
Dr. Vincent Lepore is a board-certified, Stanford-trained plastic surgeon who has been in private practice since 1987. To learn more about facelift surgery, request your free cosmetic consultationrequest your free cosmetic consultation online or call Dr. Lepore's office at 408-356-4241.
Understanding Face Lift
A face lift by San Jose-based plastic surgeon Dr. Lepore addresses some of the main signs of aging on your face and neck, including:
- Deep wrinkles
- Loose or sagging skin
- Fat deposits
In many cases, Dr. Lepore combines facelift surgery with other procedures to achieve the best possible results. During your consultation, you and Dr. Lepore work together to develop an appropriate surgical plan that may include other types of facial rejuvenation, such as brow lift or eyelid surgery. Adding these procedures to facelift surgery can lead to a more complete result, but they're not always appropriate for everyone. Certain non-surgical procedures, such as skin resurfacing and dermal fillers can also enhance results.

Your Face Lift Options
Dr. Lepore customizes your facelift according to your preferences and the amount of correction you'd like to achieve. You have several options:
- Traditional face lift: This option uses an incision that starts within the hairline, runs around the ears, and ends at the lower scalp. Sometimes, a second incision under the chin is necessary. Through these incisions, Dr. Lepore redistributes fat, repositions underlying tissue, and lifts skin and muscle. The traditional face lift treats the lower two-thirds of the face, an area where most people see the most significant signs of aging. The incisions made during a traditional face lift typically result in very discreet scars that can be easily hidden beneath the hairline.
- "Mini" facelift: This procedure requires a shorter incision that begins along the lower hairline. A mini facelift is often recommended for patients who have less significant signs of aging, as well as those who have a good amount of skin elasticity.
- Neck lift: Neck lift surgery is often performed in conjunction with a face lift. Although a traditional face lift typically offers some neck improvement, neck lift surgery yields more significant results. This makes it an especially good choice for men and women bothered by severe skin laxity in the neck, fat deposits, or a "turkey wattle" appearance. As with facelift surgery, during a neck lift, Dr. Lepore manipulates and tightens the underlying tissue, removing excess skin and fat when necessary. The result is a smoother, more refined neck that complements your facial rejuvenation beautifully.
In some instances, Dr. Lepore may recommend incorporating fat transfer into your face lift. During fat transfer, fat is harvested from one area of your body, such as your abdomen, and added to areas of your face that lack volume. Fat transfer can provide you with softer, more youthful-looking facial contours, and because it comes from your own body, there's very little risk of an adverse reaction.
What to Expect
Dr. Lepore performs facelift surgery while you are either under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. The type of anesthesia that you have is dependent on your overall health and the specifics of your procedure. For example, less invasive surgery often requires less significant anesthesia. Either way, Dr. Lepore discusses his surgical plan with you well before your surgery so you remain fully informed.
Your face lift may take several hours, depending on the type of correction you desire and whether or not you undergo multiple procedures at once. If you have fat grafting added to your face lift, Dr. Lepore will harvest your donor fat via liposuction while you are still anesthetized.
After your surgery, you can expect to experience some bruising and swelling, but most discomfort is manageable with medication. You should be able to return to your normal activities within about 2 weeks. In the meantime, it's important to keep your head upright, even when sleeping. This can reduce excessive swelling and keep you as comfortable as possible.
Your New Look
Although no facelift surgeon can stop the aging process, Dr. Lepore can make you look significantly younger with results that will last for many years. He has the skill and experience necessary to ensure that you will look natural, never too tight or artificial.
