Chemical Peels

A chemical peel will remove outer layers of dead skin and reveal the fresh cells beneath for a smoother, younger, more even complexion. There are several types of peel although each peel may be adjusted to meet your individual needs.

  • Alphahydroxy Acid, or AHA, peels will smooth rough skin and correct pigment problems. These peels may need to be repeated in order to get the best results.
  • Trichloracetic Acid, or TCA, peels will reduce small wrinkles, remove blemishes and correct pigment problems. Like AHA peels, TCA peels may need to be repeated.
  • Phenol peels will correct uneven pigmentation, smooth deeper wrinkles, and remove pre-cancers. Phenol peels generally need to be performed only once.

Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion removes layers of surface skin to reduce scars and wrinkles. After dermabrasion your skin will be red and swollen for several weeks. When this fades, however, your skin will be smoother with visible scars and wrinkles significantly reduced.

For comprehensive facial rejuvenation, many of our Saratoga area plastic surgery patients combine their procedures with the added non-surgical enhancements of chemical peels and laser skin resurfacing.
