Arm Lift is also known by its medical name, Brachioplasty. The procedure is done to reduce the excess or sagging skin on the upper arm, while tightening the underlying tissue to give the area some definition and shape. An Arm Lift can also remove extra fat.
In this case, our patient has undergone some weight loss. She is having Liposuction of other areas, (Chest, Back, and Abdomen), and has previously undergone an Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck). Essentially, this is another step in what could be termed a Body Lift.
She is concerned about the drooping appearance of her upper arms, and the excess fat that is still apparent. (Sometimes it is difficult to 'guide' the weight loss to the areas you would like to choose- and exercise will not solve the problem on its own). After discussions with Dr. Lepore, she determined to undergo Brachioplasty in our fully accredited surgical suite. Incisions were made, through which excess skin and fat were removed, and the tissue tightened. The scarring on the arms will fade with time.
Our patient is very pleased with the results of her Arm Lift, noting the greatly improved contour, as well as minimal scarring.
This case is an example of Body Lift in San Jose. This patient is a 35-year Bay Area woman who had worked hard at losing approximately 160 pounds. She wanted a more streamlined appearance, showcasing all of her efforts. She was interested in Body Contouring; and after detailed discussions, she decided to have a number of procedures to achieve her physical goals. They included; abdominoplasty, upper abdominal liposuction, a bilateral breast reduction and thigh lift, a brachioplasty, (also known as dermolipectomy or arm lift), of both arms, as well as a buttock lift. The surgeries performed on this patient represent a good example of the Body Contouring procedures available to those who have undergone gastric bypass surgery, or major weight loss.
Her surgeries were done in several different sessions. With each procedure, a recovery time of 1 to 3 weeks was necessary. The patient is now very happy with her results and her new figure.
This is a young woman (mid-20s) who has decided to take control of her health, weight, and appearance. Over a year and a half, she has achieved a significant weight loss (over 90 pounds) through diet and exercise. She continues her lifestyle and fitness journey, enjoying running, and gym workouts.
The weight loss left her with a large amount of loose, hanging skin.. She came to Dr. Lepore, exploring the various forms of Tummy Tuck as a solution.
In her case, the skin is hanging both vertically and horizontally. Surgery to address these issues is more complicated than the typical tummy tuck, which normally relies on a lower, horizontal incision.
To address her situation, a Fleur de Lys abdominoplasty was recommended. The incision resembles an upside-down "T" - allowing the skin of the upper abdomen to be drawn together, and the lower abdomen resected horizontally.
Her procedure was performed in our AAAASF-accredited surgical suite. She is seen here, 8 weeks following surgery, saying she was already back in the gym, resuming her workouts. She is very pleased with the results of her abdominoplasty. She may return for further skin tightening surgery and possible Liposuction to tailor her results as she achieves her ideal weight.
