This young woman had had a Breast Augmentation some time ago. She experienced one of the most common complications resulting from this type of surgery, a condition known as Capsular Contracture, or contracting of the implants due to the formation of internal scar tissue.
All patients differ when it comes to scar formation. In this case, you can see that the implants had been 'pushed' to a position not considered optimal for a natural appearance.
She came to Dr. Lepore to have the scar tissue removed, in an operation known as a capsulotomy or capsulectomy. Once that was done, the existing implants were removed, and replaced with silicone gel implants, of the patient's choosing.
To complete her transformation, she also chose to have a breast lift, or bilateral Donut Mastopexy.
She is very pleased with the outcome, and feels the appearance of her breasts has been greatly improved.
This woman, in her 40s, wished to 'update' the Breast Augmentation she had over 15 years ago. She was very pleased with her breast aug, but has noted some slight sagging occurring naturally over time. She came to Dr. Lepore to discuss options, and decided on Breast Lift, and Breast Augmentation with Removal and Replacement of her original implants.
During surgery in our AAASF-accredited surgical facility, her original (390cc) Saline Implants were removed, and replaced with Extra High Profile Silicone Implants (650cc). Her Breast Lift, a Donut Mastopexy, was performed with incisions around the areola, a procedure providing a more moderate lift. Our patient is picture in the After photos, 7 weeks post-surgery. She is very happy with her results.
Breast Lift-Short Scar, Breast Augmentation
Breast Lift – Breast Augmentation – Remove & Replace Breast Implants
Patients considering cosmetic breast surgery often tell us they like the look of their breasts-in a bra, but want to have the same appearance (or lift) without one. Often, they will want to achieve the look with Breast Augmentation alone. Sometimes, that can work-but often, it is not the solution. This patient has had saline breast implants for a period of years. She has noticed some sagging of her C to D cup breasts, and wants to replace the current implants with larger, silicone implants. Dr. Lepore advised that switching to a larger size would not produce the Lift she wanted.
After careful consideration, the patient decided to undergo a combination of procedures; short scar Breast Lift, removal of saline implants, Breast Augmentation with high profile silicone implants. (500cc Allergan Natrelle). The after photos were taken about 2 months after the surgery. The patient is very pleased with her choices, and the appearance of her breasts.
Breast Implants-Remove & Replace
This woman, in her mid-50s, had a breast augmentation (with another physician) about 25 years ago. Over time, capsular contractures formed around the implants- pushing them up and out, to an unnatural position. She wanted to restore the appearance of her breasts.
Dr. Lepore recommended a capsulectomy (surgical excision of the calcified scar capsules), along with Removal and Replacement of her breast implants. Our patient decided to proceed with the surgery, and chose smooth, round, moderate profile silicone gel implants, 275cc, to replace what she had.
She is seen 10 weeks following surgery in her After photos, and is very happy with her choices, and the results of her procedures.
At different times in life, patients may want different things. That is the case for this woman, who had undergone Breast Augmentation surgery with saline implants, approximately 9 years ago. She had no real complaints about her breasts. No pain, no scar capsule. She basically wanted a change back, to her natural breasts.
The procedure for removal of implants is fairly simple, and in her case, there were no complications. Often, when implants are removed, a breast lift may be performed, or recommended. This patient agreed that Breast Lift may be something to consider in the future. But for now, she is very pleased with the outcome of her implant removal.
Breast Augmentation & Implant Replacement
This patient had undergone breast augmentation elsewhere, some 20 years ago. She had her original saline implants, and came to us with concerns about pain in her breasts, and the changes in their appearance.
Dr. Lepore determined that she had severe capsular contractures (a build-up of scar tissue around the implants), which had pushed the implants out of position, and were causing her pain.
She decided to undergo a capsulectomy (removal of the scar tissue and capsule), as well as removal and replacement of her older implants.
She is very pleased with the restored appearance of her breasts.
This is a patient, in her early 50s, who had a breast augmentation with 450cc implants more than 15 years ago. She came to Dr. Lepore, after one of her saline implants had deflated. In addition, she had a capsular contracture in the other breast, along with sagging of both breasts, due to age and skin elasticity changes over time.
She decided that she did not want to replace the implants, but was hoping to lift and reshape her natural breasts. Dr. Lepore discussed various options with her. It was determined that she would best be served with implant removal and removal of the scar tissue causing the contracture, and, a Breast Lift. (In her case, a bilateral anchor mastopexy). There is more initial, visible scarring with this type of breast lift, but it more effectively addresses the type of sagging she would experience.
Our patient is very pleased with her decision, and the restored shape and position of her natural breasts.
This young woman wished to add volume to her breasts, and also wanted to correct a slight asymmetry.
In this case, after discussions with Dr. Lepore, and having the opportunity to try on various sizes, shapes, and styles of breast implants, our patient chose to proceed with Breast Augmentation, with saline implants.
This style of implant is filled with sterile saline solution, during the surgery. The implants were filled to different levels, to give her breasts a more even appearance. The implants, were placed beneath the pectoral muscle.
Our patient is seen 6 weeks following her surgery in the 'after' photos. She is very pleased with her results.
This woman, in her late 30s, has noted a number of changes to her body, following two pregnancies, and child-rearing. She reports weight gain, stretching of her abdomen, and sagging of her breasts. When she met with Dr. Lepore in San Jose, she told him she had had a breast augmentation prior to the birth of her children, and now wishes to have her previous breast implants, removed and replaced.
To address all of her concerns, she is interested in a Mommy Makeover- the term that's used to describe a variety of customized procedures. In her case, she choose to have a tummy tuck, breast lift, breast implant exchange, liposuction, and, for an added "lift" - she decides that she would like to use some of her own liposuctioned fat for a "Brazilian butt lift." In this procedure, the fat is transferred to the buttocks, for a smoother, rounder, enhanced contour.
The results - a true Mommy Makeover. Our patient is very pleased with the outcome of all of her individualized procedures.
Breast Augmentation-San Jose
This young woman, in her early 20s, hopes to address several concerns she has about her breasts. She came to see Dr. Lepore, with questions about Breast Augmentation, to add volume to her B-cup size breasts. She also hoped that increasing volume, would give a better balance to her overall body type.
She learned about her options, and the various types and styles of breast implants. She ultimately chose Saline Implants - High Profile, and filled to 505cc. Her surgery was performed in our AAAASF-accredited operating suite.
Our patient is seen in her after photos, 2 months following her procedure. She is very pleased with the outcome.
