This young woman came to us seeking changes to her nose. She had both cosmetic and function concerns. She complained of being unhappy with the crooked appearance of her nose, and she was also having difficulty in breathing. Dr. Bates performed an open rhinoplasty and septoplasty to straighten her nose, open the airway, and improve the balance of her tip and dorsum. Here she is 2 months after surgery confident with her new look and finally able to breath freely.
This patient, a 50-year old woman, had surgery some years ago to correct sinus and breathing problems. But, she had continued to be bothered by the appearance of her nose, and now wanted to address what she felt were visible nasal deformities; including a hump, wide nasal bridge, and large lateral cartilages. In consultation with Dr. Lepore, she decided to have Rhinoplasty surgery in our San Jose facility, to correct these areas. The surgery was performed in our fully-accredited, outpatient operating suite. The patient has healed very well, with no complications, and is very pleased with her result.
This case presents an example of the essential purpose of Plastic Surgery - not to replace a natural appearance, or alter cultural features, but to bring balance to existing features.
This patient came to Dr. Lepore for Rhinoplasty, bothered by what she considered the flatness of her nose, and complained that it appeared to be hanging downward at the tip. She did not want someone else's nose- but desired better proportion, especially in her nasal tip and lateral cartilages.
Dr. Lepore performed a tip rhinoplasty with reduction of the lower lateral cartilages, to alter the severe angle of her nasal tip and the width of the cartilage. Our patient also wanted more definition in her nasal bridge, and opted for a small implant.
The After photos here, are taken just 6 weeks post-surgery. Some swelling is still evident, and as with most nasal surgeries, swelling may take months to completely resolve. Our patient is very pleased with the outcome, and the changes her surgery accomplished.
This Rhinoplasty patient wanted a procedure that is often called Asian Rhinoplasty. She had been researching the procedure, and had been wanting to change what she considered a flat nasal bridge, as well as a lack of projection of the tip of her nose.
She doesn't want a drastic change of her facial features, but wants to change an area she feels needs correction. The Rhinoplasty surgery she chose to have, included placement of a Voloshin dorsal columella implant, on the bridge of her nose. There are a variety of sizes of this type of implant, and she was able to choose the type and size she felt would be best for her. Dr. Lepore works closely with his patients to determine what will best fit their facial features, and their goals.
This is an example of a patient who wished to refine and enhance her own natural beauty. She felt that her nose was too broad, and also wished to have her chin slightly augmented. After discussing her concerns with Dr. Lepore, she elected to proceed with Rhinoplasty and a Chin Implant in San Jose, for further enhancement. (Chin Implant surgery is becoming a more popular way of altering facial contours. Many patients are also exploring fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm, to temporarily augment the chin, or make alterations in facial structure.) In this patient's case, she selected a surgical chin implant. It was also determined that she would be best served with a nasal implant, to preserve a natural appearance, while giving her the definition she wanted. The procedures were performed in one session in our outpatient surgical suite. The patient is very happy with her results, and her new look.
This beautiful young woman wanted some changes made to the shape of her nose. She was unhappy with the “bump” on her nose, and her long, drooping nasal tip. Dr. Bates performed an open rhinoplasty to reshape the nasal bone and cartilage. Here she is 2 weeks after surgery, ready for some early selfies, and very pleased with her results!
This young woman wanted some refinement to the appearance of her nose. She was hoping to have the width reduced, and complained of a slight 'hump' along the bridge.
She also wished for more definition in her nasal tip. During her rhinoplasty surgery, Dr. Lepore reduced the width of her nose, and removed the hump she had been troubled by. He then removed some of the cartilage and fat, to re-tailor her nasal tip. The result is a natural-appearing refinement. The patient is very pleased with her result.
This young woman wanted a few changes to her nose, while at the same time, retaining its basic character. She'd been bothered for some time by a slight hump on the bridge of her nose, and was also hoping to minimize what she considered a bulbous appearance to her nasal tip.
She chose to undergo Rhinoplasty surgery in our outpatient surgical suite. During the procedure, Dr. Lepore eliminated the "hump" she'd been complaining of. And, he reduced and tailored the tip of her nose as well. Her post-surgical appearance is natural, will "shrink down" even more over the coming weeks, and has produced the results this woman wanted.
Another of our patients who came to see Dr. Lepore for San Jose Rhinoplasty, or nasal surgery. This young woman had been bothered by what she considered flatness of her nasal bridge. She was interested in rhinoplasty, to increase both her nasal bridge, and the projection of her nasal tip. She discussed various options for surgery with Dr. Lepore, and had the opportunity to examine samples of different implants, and pictures of other patients' results. She chose to proceed with rhinoplasty, with a nasal implant; specifically, a Voloshin dorsal columellar Silastic implant. The surgery was performed in our fully-accredited operating suite, without complication.
The patient is very pleased the outcome, and the natural appearance of her new profile.
