This young man was suffereing from gynecomastia: male breast enlargement. He requested a male breast reduction procedure to improve his chest. After discussion with Dr. Bates, he underwent surgery, inckuding a combination of ultrasound liposuctio, and direct removal of breast tissue through a small incision under the breast. He has done well, and is happy and much more confident with the new look l of his chest.
This patient, in his mid-50s, represents a growing shift in male cosmetic procedures. He is one of more than 1 million men who underwent some kind of procedure in the last year.
He was bothered by fatty deposits in his abdomen and chest, especially the excessive appearance of fat in the chest area. He came to Dr. Lepore, seeking Liposuction and treatment of Gynecomastia. It was determined that he would udergo Vaser ultrasound-assisted liposuction. Vaser Liposuction reduces subcutaneous fat, but does not resolve skin laxity, where it is significant. In this patient’s case, liposuction alone was able to improve the appearance of the chest area, without excision of the underlying breast tissue.
In addition, he had liposuction of the upper and lower abdomen, and flanks. A total of 3100 cc of fat was removed during surgery.
The After Photos were taken 7 weeks post-surgery. The patient is very pleased with the results and improved contour. He can expect an even smoother contour to become more evident in the coming months.
This is a patient in his early 60s, who is continuing a weight loss journey that began over a decade ago. He has lost nearly 80 lbs. and now wants to eliminate some of the "excess baggage" left behind. He has a quantity of loose and hanging skin and tissue on his abdomen, made more noticeable by damaged and stretched abdominal muscles. He also has excess breast tissue, and sagging skin on his chest. Dr. Lepore performed an extended abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), to tighten muscles, and remove skin and fatty tissue. He also performed Liposuction in multiple areas of the abdomen and flanks. To address our patient's breast issues (Gynecomastia), a male breast reduction was carried out as well; with direct excision of breast tissue, combined with Vaser Liposuction. Our patient looks and feels much improved, 3 months after his surgery, continuing his journey with greater comfort and confidence.
Gynecomastia affects men differently in severity, and we use a variety of solutions to the problem of enlarged male breasts. This young man presents a more severe example. He started experiencing the overgrowth of his breasts at puberty, and the problem has become more pronounced since then. He was self-conscious, and uncomfortable. In his case, Dr. Lepore reduced the size of his breasts using Vaser liposuction, and surgical removal of excess breast tissue. The procedures greatly improved the proportion, size, and shape of his breasts, giving him a much more masculine chest appearance. After photos taken at 6 weeks. He is very pleased with the outcome.
Male Breast Reduction (Gynecomastia)
This young man was bothered by enlarged-appearing breasts, which he said had been apparent since puberty. He is very fit, not overweight, and does not use recreational drugs or substances that may contribute to enlarged male breasts.
The condition is know as Gynecomastia. In his case, Dr. Lepore performed Male Breast Reduction surgery, with both Liposuction, and removal of some breast tissue. (In some patients, liposuction alone can produce the desired reduction).
Our patient is seen 2 months following his surgery, very pleased with his new chest contour, and his overal results.
This 32 yo man came to us for chest contouring. After years of working out and dieting, he was unable to reduce his chest due to male gynecomastia. While his case was mild compared to some, we agreed that surgery could help get him over the last hurdle. We performed Vaser assisted liposuction and direct glandular surgical excision through a tiny keyhole incision in his areola. Using this technique, we were able to sculpt his chest without leaving unsightly scars. Here he is 6 months after surgery, looking and feeling confident with his shirt off.
This patient, in his mid-30s, has been unhappy with the appearance of his chest- specifically, large breasts and nipples. Dr. Maser performed gynecomastia excision with liposuction assist, and also reduced the size of the nipples. He's seen in the post-op photos, just 4 weeks following the procedure.
